Darwin LMS is a custom learning management system (LMS) Darwinbark built for students preparing for competitive exams. It works as a StudyHub-style exam-prep website for learning — an AI-assisted study planner that turns quiz analytics into personalized next-topic recommendations, timed quizzes with per-question reporting, an ebook library, video lectures, paid courses and a jobs board, backed by an Android app for studying outside a browser.
Students preparing for competitive exams, and the institutes coaching them, were working across too many disconnected tools:
Darwinbark built Darwin LMS as a single learning management system covering the full study cycle: timed quizzes that report performance per question and per topic, an AI-assisted study planner that surfaces weak topics and keeps a daily streak, an ebook library with saved reading position, video lectures and paid courses under one subscription model, and a jobs board so the same students checking their quiz scores can also track relevant openings. An Android app mirrors the core study flow for offline-friendly use.
The platform is built around Students, Quizzes, Courses, and Content (ebooks and video lectures). Every quiz attempt is logged at the question level, not just as a final score, which is what makes both the performance report and the study planner's topic recommendations possible - a student can see exactly which topic is dragging their average down instead of guessing from an overall percentage. Course and content access is gated by subscription tier, so free and paid material live in the same catalogue without separate systems.
A score without an explanation. A final percentage tells a student how they did, not what to study next. Logging every quiz attempt at the question level means the report - and the study planner built on top of it - can point at specific weak topics instead of leaving the student to guess.
Losing your place in a 400-page ebook. Reading-progress tracking on every title means picking up a book days later starts exactly where the student left off, not at page one.
Free and paid content living apart. Subscription-gated access means free quizzes and paid courses sit in the same catalogue and the same account, instead of forcing students onto a separate paid learning management system once they're ready to upgrade.
Darwin LMS now supports 4,000 concurrent test-takers during peak exam-season quiz windows without the timed-quiz experience degrading. The platform is live at lms.darwinbark.com as a working example of the custom learning management systems and AI study planner platforms Darwinbark builds for coaching institutes and edtech businesses.
Everything a student sees is managed from a single admin panel. Content is organised as categories, sub-categories, subjects, authors and books, with quizzes, video lectures and paid courses managed alongside them. The dashboard surfaces recently added and most-viewed material so the team running the platform can see what is actually being used rather than guessing.
Configuration is grouped into tabs rather than one long form — branding, ads, payments, AI, SMTP, social login, legal pages, demo login and data, and licensing each have their own section. Separating them keeps day-to-day changes such as swapping a logo or updating SMTP credentials away from the settings that affect billing and licensing.
