Healthcare Software Development
Darwinbark builds healthcare management platforms for clinics and independent doctors moving off paper-based scheduling and prescriptions. We've built this kind of system before - end to end, from patient booking through to clinic admin reporting.
What a Healthcare Platform Needs to Get Right
A clinic management system touches real patient care, so the core requirements aren't optional: appointment booking that makes double-booking structurally impossible, a digital prescription record that replaces illegible handwriting with something searchable, and patient data that's scoped correctly so a patient's history is visible to the doctors treating them and no one else.
Our Approach
We build around four core entities - clinics, doctors, patients, and appointments - with a doctor's availability and booked appointments living in the same data model, so the booking interface simply never offers a slot that's already taken. Reminder notifications, prescription-ready alerts, and clinic reporting all run as background jobs so the booking flow itself stays fast on a patient's phone.
Technology
Our default stack for this kind of platform is Laravel on the backend, Vue.js for the interactive doctor and patient dashboards, Firebase Cloud Messaging for real-time push notifications, and MySQL for the relational patient/appointment/prescription data model.
