How It Works

  1. Upload your photo.
  2. The tool reads and displays the embedded EXIF metadata.
  3. No file is changed - this is a read-only check.

What's Actually in a Photo's Metadata

EXIF metadata commonly includes the camera or phone model, the date and time the photo was taken, camera settings (aperture, shutter speed), and sometimes precise GPS coordinates if location services were enabled when the photo was taken.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see the exact GPS location a photo was taken?

If the camera had location services enabled at the time, yes - GPS coordinates are one of the metadata fields this tool can reveal.

Does viewing metadata change the file?

No - this is read-only. Use the Remove Metadata tool if you want to strip this information from the file itself.
